I hold a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno, with an emphasis in geotechnical engineering. My expertise is in solving complicated temporary and permanent stormwater management problems.

I earned my Certified Professional in Erosion Sediment Control (CPESC) and Certified Erosion, Sediment and Storm Water Inspector (CESSWI) in 2006 and a professional engineer license in Idaho in 2007.I am a Qualified instructor for the City of Boise Erosion Control Responsible Person Course and the Idaho Transportation Department Water Pollution Control Manager Course. I have presented and moderated sessions for local stormwater conferences, as well as IECA regional and international conferences

After working as a geotechnical consultant for 7 years, I began working as a partner with an environmental compliance consulting and construction company in 2009 and have worked on environmental compliance projects for a wide range of industries. Projects have included commercial and industrial developers, public utilities, housing developers, municipalities, school districts, universities, and commercial park developers. In 2013, I started a civil engineering consulting firm. Currently, I serve as the CEO of the largest erosion and environmental compliance company in Idaho and the president of a civil engineering consulting firm.

My passion in the industry is collaborating with owners and contractors to solve complex problems related to stormwater and runoff management. I believe that when owners, contractors, and regulators work together to achieve the common goal of clean water, then true innovation can happen.

I have served the chapter board as the state representative, secretary, and now as the president. I have recently represented the Chapter Board at the IECA Annual Conference. Throughout my time in chapter leadership, I have witnessed—and continue to witness—positive developments both at the chapter and international levels within the organization. I remain highly optimistic about the future of the Pacific Northwest Chapter, the IECA, and the broader stormwater compliance and erosion control industry..

David Jenkins

Dave Jenkins worked in construction erosion control, stormwater management, habitat restoration, and contaminated site cleanups for over 30 years. In 2021, he retired after 22 years as the Port of Seattle’s Erosion Control/Stormwater Engineer, where he managed compliance on all Port construction projects, including the construction of a third runway involving the import and placement of over 17 million tons of fill. Prior to the Port, he was the WSDOT Statewide Erosion Control Coordinator, responsible for developing and implementing their first contractor erosion control certification program. All his experience is in heavy civil, public works construction, primarily seaport, airport, and roadway infrastructure. He was the chapter President from 2021 through 2024 and is currently the chapter Treasurer.

Kristine Sommer is a seasoned business development professional with over a decade of experience in environmental consulting, specializing in advanced water treatment, erosion and sediment control (ESC), and regulatory compliance for industrial and construction markets. As Director of Business Development at Clear Water Services, she leads strategic growth initiatives, supports national expansion, and drives sales efforts across key client sectors.

Kristine holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC), a Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD), and a former President of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the International Erosion Control Association (IECA). Her technical expertise includes water treatment system design, site assessment, permitting, and implementation oversight.

A retired professional athlete and former USA Rugby Women’s National Team captain, Kristine now brings the same drive to building lasting client relationships, and raising (almost) two wild little boys, her greatest passion.

Tracy Coon is an experienced construction professional with over 30 years in the industry, specializing in environmental compliance for the past 20 years. She is the owner of TPC Consulting, where she focuses on teaching AK-CESCL classes, writing stormwater plans, and assisting companies and private landowners with permitting and the associated processes.

As an AK-CESCL Instructor, Tracy is passionate about teaching and mentoring construction professionals on stormwater regulations, erosion and sediment control, and best management practices (BMPs) to maintain compliance with environmental permits.

Currently serving as a Stormwater Engineer for DOT Northern Region Construction, Tracy works closely with contractors, designers, and regulatory agencies to ensure environmental compliance on construction projects. Her background includes hands-on experience as a Stormwater Manager for private contractors, conducting inspections and developing strategies to minimize environmental impacts at construction sites and gravel facilities.

Tracy enjoys making complex regulations understandable and practical for field application. She believes that education and proactive compliance are key to protecting Alaska’s waterways while keeping construction projects on track.

When she's not teaching or working in the field, Tracy loves spending time with family and friends at her cabin, riding snow machines and four-wheelers, and enjoying the Alaskan outdoors.

Dan has worked for Syman Inc. for 9 years. He has been fortunate enough to work in all aspects of the company from installing BMPs to growing the company through the PNW. He currently is the Business Development Manager, overseeing the growth and direction the company plans to move. He has worked in the construction industry most his life and enjoys being able to be a part of something that helps build the future of the state of Idaho in which he lives. Dan also teaches environmental classes in behalf of Idaho Transportation Department throughout  all of Idaho. He gets to see the effects of the environmental compliance that we all learn and teach about.

Damon Sump is the National Sales Manager – West for Profile Products. He has spent thirty years in the erosion control, reclamation, and landscape industries. Damon is a long-time resident of Oregon and currently visits projects and works with engineers, distributors, and contractors to provide innovative erosion control and revegetation solutions. He manages the Regional Business Managers in the western half of the USA and Canada and holds his CPESC (Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control) certification. Damon also serves on the IECA Professional Development Committee.

I graduated from the University of Washington in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Earth and Space Sciences (Geoscience). I currently work at GeoResources, a geotechnical engineering firm based in Fife, Washington, serving the Puget Sound region. I have been a board member of the IECA Pacific Northwest Chapter since March 2025. Outside of work, I spend most weekends playing or watching soccer, spending time with friends and family, and with my two cats—when I’m not performing UTA duties for the U.S. Air Force.

Drew Johnson, PE, is an Engineering Business Manager with Solmax and a licensed professional engineer based in Boise, Idaho. He works with engineers, contractors, DOTs, and owners throughout the Pacific Northwest to support resilient infrastructure solutions involving roadway reinforcement, erosion control, slope stabilization, and geosynthetics

Drew’s background combines civil engineering, environmental sciences, and business development. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources and Conservation from University of Florida and a bachelor's degree in civil and environmental engineering from Florida Gulf Coast University.

Before joining Solmax, Drew held engineering and business development roles with consulting firms, municipalities, and infrastructure manufacturers, building experience in transportation, commercial, hydraulics, and stormwater applications. Over time, he developed a passion for connecting technical engineering concepts with practical field solutions and industry collaboration.

As Strategic Partnerships Representative for the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the International Erosion Control Association, Drew looks forward to helping strengthen relationships across the erosion control and infrastructure community while supporting collaboration between agencies, engineers, contractors, manufacturers, and young professionals.

Outside of work, Drew enjoys spending time with his family, staying active, exploring the outdoors, and pursuing continuous personal and professional growth.
