Working alongside the dedicated teams at IECA Australasia and Everick Foundation, we were proud to be part of a collaborative opportunity implementing innovative and sustainable land management practices at Bundulla Station, Qld, by trialling alternative solutions to traditional earthworks and gabion baskets. The site is a heritage listed cemetery, that through anthropogenic impacts and drought had experienced ongoing erosional impacts risking exposure of artefacts and graves if not addressed. The project focused on hands-on On Country ESC (Erosion and Sediment Control) education and implementation, upskilling, and First Nations business activation-in partnership ...

On June 5 th and 6 th your CEO, Samantha Roe, and I had the honor to represent the IECA in lobby days in Washington, DC. COLLABORATE TODAY. SUSTAIN TOMORROW. The Northeast Chapter is excited to unveil our new logo. (pictured right) We began soliciting designs from erosion control professionals in the fall of 2024. We wanted our logo to represent the association’s mission to combat soil erosion, protect waterways, and promote sustainable construction and operational practices across the Northeast. Some of our guidelines included logos which incorporated imagery related to soil, water, plants, or local wildlife. We encouraged the use of a color palette inspired by nature—greens, blues, earthy browns, and autumn tones. In addition, we wanted a logo that was reflective ...

We’re just a few weeks away from the 2025 IECA Annual Conference & Expo, and I couldn’t be more excited to welcome you all to Richmond, Virginia! Whether you’re a first-time attendee or a conference veteran, this year’s event is shaping up to be one of the best yet. One of the biggest takeaways from a recent interview I did ( linked here ) is how important it is to get involved to truly make the most of your conference experience. It’s just like starting college—don’t sit in your room, get out there, meet people, and engage! Last year, we introduced a special initiative where we took young professionals onto the expo floor to help them connect with vendors ...

At the heart of the International Erosion Control Association (IECA) is a commitment to supporting communities impacted by environmental challenges. Recently, this commitment was on full display when IECA members stepped up to assist a community in North Carolina grappling with stormwater damage and erosion following severe weather. Christina, a homeowner in Brevard, North Carolina, reached out to IECA seeking guidance after stormwater runoff and fallen trees severely damaged her retaining wall and driveway. In response, one of our dedicated members visited her home to assess the damage, capture photos, and offer valuable insights. This hands-on support exemplifies ...
