PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Dear Western Chapter Members,
It’s been a fun first quarter of my tenure as Western Chapter President. As we are a member-supported organization it’s my belief that we as a Chapter need to be member-responsive and provide you as many benefits as possible to maintain and grow our membership. We have a great Board of Directors at your disposal, and I hope that you all take advantage of our talents and expertise to help you grow both professionally and personally. I will use my energy in this first year to work to grow our membership and work with Directors and staff to bring the best possible webinars and in-person training opportunities to you. If you have any ideas, want to give a presentation, or have a venue that would benefit from some involvement, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or the education committee. With our revamped Website, it’s easier than ever to get in touch and keep abreast of what is happening both in the Western Chapter and within IECA as a whole. If you are an IECA member, and if you aren’t, what’s preventing your membership? The new IECA Connect is a great hub to get engaged, so update your profile and start connecting.
February, I had the pleasure of leading the Chapter’s Annual Meeting in person at the IECA Annual Conference in Spokane, Washington. It was a great event, with so many great educational sessions, and the exhibit hall was so jam-packed that it was impossible to do everything. We had an excellent turnout for our Chapter Meeting with 29 in-person participants and 12 virtually via Zoom. The main topic of discussion was having a Western Chapter Conference, preferably in Hawaii. Please let us know if you are interested in volunteering for this service. It is an endeavor that will occur with a core group of volunteers. I hope to see you in Richmond, Virginia in February 2025 for next year’s conference.
Please continue to engage with us as a Chapter, enroll your colleagues, and talk up the organization to your vendors and clients. We grow as a community when the seeds of membership are planted with a high-quality BFM (the Chapter Board). We look forward to the educational webinars this summer and fall.
