I would like to start this edition of the IECA Pulse with my congratulations to Dan Nitzsche and Jacquelyn Claver from GZA GeoEnvironmental for being named the recipients of the IECA 2024 Speaker of the Year.  Their outstanding presentation at the IECA 2024 Annual Conference & Expo in Spokane, Washington provided hands-on training while sharing their expertise with the attendees. We appreciate their dedication to IECA and providing cutting-edge training to the industry.

As we celebrate their success, it’s an excellent time to remind our members of the rich educational opportunities IECA provides. From engaging conferences and informative webinars to immersive workshops and enlightening field days, there’s something for everyone to expand their knowledge and skills in environmental management and erosion control.

We’re thrilled to see the upcoming MAC Field Day, and Auburn Stormwater Week of events, where industry members like you have the chance to engage your minds and benefit from the hands-on training.

Are you interested in sharing your knowledge with the IECA Community? IECA is currently seeking abstracts for regional conferences, the IECA 2025 Annual Conference & Expo as well as articles for the IECA Call for Innovation in Environmental Connection. All current opportunities are posted at www.ieca.org/becomeapresenter

Submitting an abstract not only offers you the opportunity to share your expertise with fellow members and showcase your work but also to gain recognition as a knowledge leader in your field. Accepted abstracts will be presented at an upcoming conference or featured as articles in Environmental Connection magazine, further amplifying your impact within the industry.

Whether you have insights to share, innovative solutions to present, or simply a passion for learning and networking, IECA welcomes your participation in shaping the future of environmental stewardship.

Let’s continue to learn, grow, and inspire one another as we work towards a more sustainable and resilient future.

Warm regards,

Jerry Sanders

IECA President
