We are honored to extend a cordial invitation to the IV Ibero-American Congress of Sediments and Ecology (CISE) and the First Ibero-American Conference on Erosion and Sedimentation (JIES). This prestigious event will be held jointly from August 5 to 9, 2024, at the Atlantic headquarters of the University of Costa Rica in the city of Turrialba.
This event is organized by the University of Costa Rica, the International Sediment Initiative (ISI-LAC) of the PHI UNESCO, the International Association for Erosion and Sediment Control Ibero-American Chapter (IECA) IA, the Costa Rican Association of Soil Science (ACCS), the Mexican Institute of Water Technology (IMTA), the Tropical Agricultural Research and Teaching Center (CATIE), and the Costa Rican Institute of Electricity (ICE).
Our events are renowned for attracting academics and professionals from the Latin American and Caribbean region who are passionate about sediments and erosion. This highly technical event will provide participants with the opportunity to learn about best practices, share experiences, and strengthen professional ties. Attendees will stay informed about the latest topics in erosion, sedimentation, and ecology related to sediments.

El evento está organizado por la Universidad de Costa Rica, la Iniciativa Internacional de Sedimentos (ISI-LAC) del PHI UNESCO, la Asociación Internacional de Control de Erosión y Sedimentos Capítulo Iberoamericano (IECA) IA, la Asociación Costarricense de Ciencia del Suelo (ACCS), el Instituto Mexicano de Tecnología del Agua (IMTA), el Centro Agronómico Tropical de Investigación y Enseñanza (CATIE) y el Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE).
Nuestros eventos se caracterizan por atraer académicos y profesionales de la región latinoamericana y caribeña interesados en el tema de los sedimentos y la erosión. Este evento eminentemente técnico brindará a los participantes la oportunidad de aprender sobre las mejores prácticas, compartir experiencias y fortalecer lazos profesionales. Los asistentes se mantendrán informados sobre los temas más actuales en erosión, sedimentación y ecología relacionada con los sedimentos.
