We wish everyone a restful holiday and massive appreciation for all the great work that has been done in the conservation of our soil and water resources this year.
I also encourage reflection on the year's achievements and challenges. Thank you to our members, contributors, and sponsors—your support has strengthened our organisation, especially through our field days and successful Melbourne conference. We truly appreciate your contribution to our community
One of the highlights of 2025 was the collaboration with Turf NSW in the design, build and launch of the ESC Demonstration and Training site located in Richmond NSW. This brings 3 dedicated ESC demonstration and training sites in Qld and NSW; we are currently working with members in Victoria and the ACT to build similar facilities. Look out in 2026 for regular events at these facilities.
The launch of the new Chapter website was another exciting accomplishment; this brings us even closer to the completion of reunification within IECA. The new website will streamline members access to all the resources within IECA globally.
Our team has begun planning for more field days and webinars in the lead up to our 2026 conference in Sydney, 21st – 23rd October, make sure you save the date. The best way for us to progress is through active, positive participation in our field. We invite members interested in presenting their projects or organising a field day to get in touch.
As usual, I urge all members and partners to consider sustainable methods for erosion and sediment control, along with nature-based approaches that align with the circular economy. If you're interested in joining a committee, organizing an event, or have ideas for webinar topics, please contact IECA. You can reach Sandra at sandra@ieca.org.
From all the Australasian board, have a great break and holiday season. We wish you the best and look forward to 2026.
Kind regards Dallas Frazier President IECA Australasia
