POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

Job Title: Member Service and Client Support Representative

Reports To: Director of Marketing, Membership & Communications

Supervises: None

FLSA Category: Exempt

Job Summary:

The position’s major responsibility is to support IECA’s member program. This position is the front-line representative for IECA members. Additionally, this role assists with regional event support. The position processes membership payments, keeps IECA’s member database up-to-date and provides assistance as needed to other positions. This position provides an opportunity for advancement in the association as well.

 

CUSTOMER SERVICE

  • Manages incoming member communication and responds to requests and inquiries in a timely and friendly manner.
  • Processes transactions and payments, including checks and credit cards, for memberships and regional/annual conferences.
  • Support IECA events team to assist with IECA regional national events as needed.
  • Update member database and website.
  • Manage member renewal process to include emailed and mailed renewal notices, reminders and terminations.
  • Assists with strategies to recruit new members and reactivate expired memberships.
  • Generate daily reports to help maintain financially accurate data.
  • Serve as liaison with Chapter leadership to assist in building productive relationships between IECA national and Chapters.

 

Skills & Competencies:

  1. Strong communication skills required including the ability to professionally communicate in written and spoken word.
  2. Strong attention to detail is required.
  3. Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is required.
  4. Basic HTML coding experience preferred or willingness to learn.
  5. Experience with member/customer databases is preferred.
  6. A timely response to inquiries and requests for services or products is required.
  7. Well-developed customer service and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with people, solve problems and negotiate compromise, are necessary.
  8. Ability to follow directions and adapt to changing circumstances is key.
  9. Must be able to process financial transactions with a high degree of accuracy.
  10. Must be able to work and contribute well in a dynamic small-team environment.
  11. Must be able to meet deadlines for projects and be a self-starter.
  12. Willingness to learn new skills is a must!

 

Credentials and Experience:

High school diploma is required. Two years of membership/customer service experience preferred. 

 

Special Requirements:

Some travel is required primarily to assist with Annual Conference and Chapter events.
