Civil Engineering Internship – 2023

We have 3 Summer Internship positions available, which run May-August or June-September (depending on the student’s school schedule). A successful intern in our program is someone who enjoys being challenged -- you will be integrated into a team with coworkers ready to share their professional experience as you work on projects together. You will be working with PEs and Civil Designers and will be utilizing Civil3D beginning on your first day here. There will be opportunities for design, plan production, research, and site visits (with the necessary safety precautions).

Our offices operate on a hybrid schedule with an expectation of 3 days a week in-office and the flexibility to work from home 2 days. If desired, you can work in-office every day.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a BSCE program and at a junior or senior level
  • Available for the entire 3-month duration (our internship program includes a 10-session training course)
  • Available to work full-time (40 hours per week; Monday-Friday)Pay = $21/hour
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment and on an individual basis
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities

The Portland Civil + Survey office (including Eugene and Washington DC staff) consists of 94 employees including 35 PEs and 3 PLSs. Our core civil practice focuses on site development, public utility and roadway infrastructure, parks and trails, and innovative stormwater management. Our survey team focuses on boundary staking, topo surveying, construction layout, drone missions, and building inspections. We work on many different and exciting design projects including education and healthcare facilities, national parks, cultural centers, zoos and museums, as well as government and international facilities. We believe in encouraging personal and professional growth, and we work hard at providing a solid structure with minimal organizational restrictions.
